Enjoy the confidence of a beautiful new smile with Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers provide Dr. Jayne with a fast, yet long-lasting means of correcting many common dental imperfections, such as discolored or yellowed teeth, gaps between teeth and misshapen or crooked teeth.

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made facings that adhere firmly to the surface of the teeth. These natural-looking cosmetic restorations can upgrade your smile in just a few visits.

Minimal-Preparation Veneers

Dr. Jayne uses veneers fabricated with strong, high-quality porcelain. The veneers are very thin, just slightly thicker than a contact lens. This means they won’t add bulk to teeth and there is little to no preparation required. In the past, veneers required considerable shaving of the enamel. With the thin, durable veneers Dr. Jayne uses, the amount of shaving is greatly reduced.

How we create a bright, natural-looking smile
Smile design

Your smile makeover begins with in-depth planning by Dr. Jayne. She takes photos of your face and mouth, impressions of your teeth and measurements of your teeth and facial proportions.

She’ll also use digital imaging software to show you just how beautiful your smile can be. Dr. Jayne uses her experience and artistic eye to choose the shade and shape of veneer that matches your natural teeth.

Lumineers®

Dr. Jayne is a certified provider of Lumineers , an ultra-thin porcelain veneer that requires very little, if any, preparation of your natural tooth (or teeth). Lumineers are about the same thickness as a contact lens and have a translucent quality that mimics natural enamel.

On your first visit, Dr. Jayne will take an impression of your teeth that is sent to the skilled technicians at the Lumineer lab. Your beautiful new veneers will be placed on your second visit, without the need for temporaries in between visits.

Your permanent veneers

After Dr. Jayne receives your permanent veneers, she will do any adjustments that are necessary to ensure they fit properly and are the correct shade.

Dr. Jayne applies bonding cement and places the veneers over your teeth. She will then use a special light to rapidly harden the bonding agent. Any excess bonding cement is removed, and when necessary, your veneers are fine-tuned to fit your bite. She will ensure that your porcelain veneers fit well and look great. We want you to be happy with the results!

The benefits of Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can transform a smile in just two to three visits. People who feel self-conscious about their teeth can be smiling confidently in just a couple of weeks. Even conditions like crooked and gapped teeth can be changed with porcelain veneers.

Porcelain veneers are an excellent alternative for teeth whitening. Teeth whitening procedures need to be consistently repeated, and in some cases, such as teeth stained by antibiotics, whitening just isn’t effective. Veneers last an overall average of ten years, although they can last much longer when cared for properly. Dr. Jayne will recommend methods to keep your veneers in excellent condition.

Porcelain is a bio-compatible material that won’t irritate your gums or harm your natural teeth. It reflects light in the same manner as tooth enamel, resulting in a very natural appearance. Veneers can also stabilize and strengthen weakened teeth. Since the surface of porcelain is non-porous, it’s far more resistant to stains than tooth enamel.

Conditions Porcelain Veneers can correct

Dr. Jayne uses veneers to correct a variety of conditions, including:

  • Misshapen teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Chipped teeth
  • Mildly crooked teeth
  • Discolored, yellowed or stained teeth
  • Teeth that are too short or too small
  • Teeth that have craters or bumps
Dental Bonding

Dr. Jayne uses dental bonding for patients requiring an immediate restoration of a chipped or broken tooth. Direct deposit bonding is usually done in a single office visit.

After applying an etching solution, a thin coating of composite material is placed over the damaged area of the tooth. The material is hardened with an ultraviolet light and then sculpted by Dr. Jayne to create a flawless new tooth with a natural appearance.

For complete coverage of a tooth, Dr. Jayne prefers to use porcelain veneers as they are much more resistant to stains than dental bonding and last much longer.
